POSITION TITLE: School Based Health Center Support Staff

REPORTS TO: Health Center Coordinator

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A full contract for this position is 240 days, with benefits as specified in employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on the actual start date.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work closely with the SBHC Coordinator to ensure that the clinic functions as smoothly as possible following established policy and procedure. 

  • Communicate with SBHC staff, school staff, and other health centers to provide optimal care for the SBHC patients. 

  • Answer phones, direct calls appropriately, prioritize calls, take messages as needed.

  • Schedule appointments.

  • Perform supportive duties such as mail distribution, filing, copying, faxing, emailing, etc.

  • Prepare, distribute and review consent forms for all students.

  • Assist with special campaigns such as immunization, wellness education, training, etc.

  • Represent the SBHC in a professional manner at all times.

  • Assist with the inventory of supplies and ordering as needed.

  • Creates various types of documents.

  • Greet and direct visitors to the appropriate locations.

  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance 

  • Organize and file documents in a systematic and easily retrievable manner.

  • Verify data for accuracy and completeness, identifying discrepancies for correction.

  • Prepare items for staff orientation and staff handbook.

  • Responds to written and verbal inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources for the purpose of providing information and/or providing direction.

  • Ability to produce brochures, handbooks, notebooks, flyers, and meeting agendas.

  • Attend meetings/trainings as required by administration.

  • Must have strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

  • May be required to work additional hours as directed.

  • Maintain confidentiality.

  • Present and communicate in a professional manner.

  • Ensure compliance with district policies and state regulations.

  • Collaborate with other departmental staff to streamline processes and improve overall operations.

  • Other duties as assigned by administration.
