POSITION TITLE: Technology Specialist

 

FLSA: Non-Exempt

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Technology

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A full contract for this position is 240 days, with benefits as specified in employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on actual start date. 

 

LOCATION: Rogers Center

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and related technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and components of local area networks.
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in related job function or duties. CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, or VMware certifications are a plus.
  • A+ Certification Required Prior To or Within 12 Months of Employment.
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 30-35lbs.
  • Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, occasional reaching above the head or  the shoulders, bending, squatting, and kneeling.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure the maintenance, monitoring performance, installation, configuration, and support of the entire district's technology hardware and software components.
  • Image new computers, computers that have been repaired, or in response to troubleshooting hardware/software/operating system issues.
  • Assist in Local Area Network troubleshooting, configuration, and installation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting both wired and wireless network equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all technology related hardware and software.
  • Maintain required vendor/manufacturer certifications including ongoing training in both hardware and software utilized by the district. 
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of repairs and responses through a work order ticket system.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and other Server OS troubleshooting, configuration, and hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace for Education support and configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of Educational Technology including Interactive Flat Panels, Interactive Whiteboards, Lecture Capture, and Related Classroom AV Components.
  • Working knowledge of Audio/Video technologies in Small to Large Venues including, but not limited to: Large Format Displays, Audio Mixers/DSPs, Microphones, Amplifiers, Video Switching, etc.
  • Ability to tackle problems, identify solutions and follow through to completion.
  • Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited.
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance and demonstrates the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Research and implement preventative maintenance procedures for district technology devices.
  • Work additional hours as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned by administration.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Present and communicate in a professional manner.
  • Attend training as required.

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must have the ability to lift at least 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, occasional reaching above the head or the shoulders, bending, squatting, and kneeling. 
  • Maintains A+ Certification and a Professional Development Plan as directed.
