POSITION TITLE: Hourly Tutor for Residential Facilities

       

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly. 4 hours per week (evening). Two days per week.

 

CONTRACT LENGTH: 2024 School Year (based on funding)
 

LOCATION: Residential Facilities - Boys' Shelter, Girls' Shelter or Fostering Change

 

BEGINNING/ENDING: August 26, 2024– Summer 2025 (based on the availability of funds)

  

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Must be a certified teacher.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Increase student achievement in literacy and mathby providing students with small group instruction.
  • Facilitates the implementation of research-based, best practices designed to meet individual student needs.
  • Maintains a consistent focus on teaching and learning to high standards.
  • Must provide transitional lessons weekly 
  • Collects, coordinates, and analyzes student data related to math and literacy.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Maintains records and reports consistently and in an appropriate manner.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS  

  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Sensitive to a diversity of children’s needs.
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, occasional reaching above the head or the shoulders, bending, squatting and kneeling.
